Rethink Pollutant Removal

DID YOU KNOW

3 million pounds of recycled tire has been used in Bold & Gold® products since 2016?

The Story of Bold & Gold®

Clean water is essential to life on Earth. Lakes and rivers provide us a place to gather with family and friends and enjoy recreational activities. The ocean is a key resource for food.

Unfortunately, nutrient discharges from stormwater, wastewater and agricultural runoff are threatening these natural resources. Removing total suspended solids from runoff is not doing enough to protect our lakes, rivers, streams, and underground aquifers. We must do more to protect this precious natural resource for future generations.

Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) are being implemented across the U.S. to reduce pollution. Bold & Gold® is added to traditional Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce nutrient discharges to surface water and groundwater.  Bold & Gold® is specifically manufactured soil that replaces common fill materials like sand and stone.

Bold & Gold® is different as it:

  • Removes the dissolved form of nutrients in addition to particulates
  • Is composed of natural and recycled materials that are safe for the environment
  • Contains no organics and has a long service life
  • Is manufactured by our employees. We have strict quality control procedures that ensure the media delivered to your project meets is consistent
  • Is non-toxic.
  • Does not discharge pollutants back to the environment

Bold & Gold® was developed in 2007 at the Stormwater Management Academy at The University of Central Florida.

The University tested dozens of materials to determine the best components to include in a media to remove pollutants and protect our most precious resource, water. Bold & Gold® is composed of sand, clay and recycled tire.

We offer several blends of Bold & Gold® to meet the nutrient reduction goals of your project. Contact us today to learn more about which Bold & Gold® product is right for your project.
