Wastewater Reclamation Treatment Facilities

The State of Florida is home to thirty-three magnitude one springs. The residents of Florida rely on these springs for drinking water, food and recreation. The state is also surrounded by water which attracts millions of tourists every year. Protecting these resources is extremely important to the health and wellbeing of the State. Managing nutrient discharges to surface water and groundwater is extremely important to protect these natural resources. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the water management districts tasked the University of Central Florida to develop a pollution control media to remove pollutants from runoff water. The University has been developing and testing media since 2007. The following section includes published reports and journal articles presenting information on projects where Bold & Gold® was used to remove pollutant in specific applications.
