On-site Wastewater Treatment with Approved INRB Filter Media
Passive On-Site Pollution Removal
Remove Pollutants Without Power and Expensive Maintenance Contracts
Conventional on-site wastewater systems don’t remove enough nutrients to meet guidelines in nutrient-sensitive areas. Before we had Approved INRB Filtration Media, Aerobic Treatment Units (ATUs) and Performance Based Treatment Systems (PBTSs) were the only options to reduce nutrients from on-site systems when a sewer connection wasn’t an option. These systems tend to require power, annual maintenance and an expensive operating permit. Even worse, these systems dump raw sewage into the environment if the power goes out.
There is now a drainfield solution that doesn’t require power. Approved INRB Filtration Media reduces nitrogen, phosphorus and pathogens from on-site treatment systems like drainfields and leach fields. It also creates the perfect anaerobic environment for denitrification to happen. How actually? The INRB filter media is composed of sand and lignocellulose materials placed below 18-inch sand layer to reduce the discharge of Nitrate-Nitrogen into the groundwater.
